Effective for 2024-2025 School Year
Literacy Therapeutic Learning Centres LTd. ("LiteracyTLC")

By registering for services and submitting payment information, you (the “Parent” or “Guardian”) agree to the following terms and conditions regarding tuition, scheduling, and participation in LiteracyTLC’s programming. These terms apply to all services rendered from September 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, unless otherwise stated.

1. Tuition & Payment Terms

  • Tuition is calculated based on the total number of sessions scheduled during the academic year (September–June), excluding public holidays, and divided evenly across the number of months the student is enrolled.
  • Monthly tuition payments are equalized, regardless of the number of sessions in any given month, and are due on the 1st of each month.
  • All payments are processed automatically via Stripe using the payment method provided for the intake assessment or as updated through your secure billing portal.
  • If you wish to use an alternate payment method, you must notify LiteracyTLC before the start of the billing cycle.

Example: A student beginning in September with two sessions per week would be invoiced for the total number of sessions from September to June, divided into 10 equal monthly payments. A student beginning in November would have their total sessions divided across 8 months.

2. Lesson Cancellation Policy

  • Lessons cancelled by the parent/guardian or student are non-refundable.
  • With at least 3 hours’ notice, families may request a Personalized Lesson Package in lieu of the missed session.
  • If LiteracyTLC cancels a session due to unforeseen circumstances, a refund or rescheduling will be offered.

3. Withdrawal & Termination Policy

  • Written notice of at least one month is required to reduce or discontinue sessions.
  • All lessons during the notice period are non-refundable and must be paid in full.
  • Lessons scheduled after the notice period will be cancelled without charge.

4. Late Arrival & No-show Policy

  • Lessons begin and end at the scheduled time. Time lost due to student lateness will not be made up or refunded.
  • If the teacher is late, that time will be made up by extending the session or rescheduling.
  • A student is considered a no-show if they are absent at the scheduled time or arrive more than 30 minutes late without notice. No-shows are billed in full.

5. Inclement Weather Policy (In-Person Classes)

  • In the event of inclement weather, lessons may be conducted online in lieu of cancellation.
  • The parent/guardian and teacher should mutually decide on proceeding with in-person lessons.
  • If an in-person lesson must be cancelled due to severe weather, efforts will be made to reschedule.

6. Discrimination and Harassment Policy

  • LiteracyTLC maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward discrimination and harassment based on race, religion, sex, disability, nationality, or any protected ground under Canadian law. Violations may result in warnings, termination of services, or legal action, without refund.

7. Acknowledgment & Agreement

  • By registering your child with LiteracyTLC, submitting payment information, and/or participating in our programs, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these terms and conditions.
