What’s the difference?
Tutors who offer curricular support help students stay on track in school. These are the students that don’t necessarily struggle with learning difficulties. A useful metaphor is a train on track but running behind. A tutor can offer curricular support to help a neurotypical student catch up with his or her classmates and even get ahead. On the other hand, if a train has jumped the track, or has never been on track because of a missing axle, then an entirely different approach needs to be taken. This is where educational therapists step in.
We are educational therapists. We work with children and teens who have unique learning challenges. Whether they are affected by developmental delays or neurogenetic divergences, we offer customized programs for these kids to rewire their brains using the science of neuroplasticity. This is why we offer not only Orton-Gillingham multisensory learning, but also executive function support, emotional regulation guidance and brain/body training.
We focus our efforts on educational therapy and building up our expertise and knowledge in that area. We do not want to become experts at securing and processing payments, hence we look to the experts for that. Stripe is the payment processor who we have chosen as they are one of the world's leading payment processing platforms and relied upon by the largest online businesses including: Amazon, Google, Shopify and Instacart. It does increases our costs a bit, as they charge us a processing fee; however, this is well worth it for both ourselves and our customers as it allows you to transact in confidence with convenient payment options without us having to handle any of your financial information such as your credit card or banking details.
